Schematic Design

Schematic design requirements (4 marks)

It starts with defining Project goals, key philosophies and principles that guide design.  Often this determines the program for the project.

The program, or architectural program, is the term used to define the required functions of the project. It should include estimated square meters of each usage type and any other elements that achieve the project goals.

During schematic design, an architect commonly develops study drawings, documents, or other media that illustrate the concepts of the design and include spatial relationships, scale, and form. Costs are estimated based on overall project volume. (Assume 3000-4000 Pesos a sq m of built area for a safe estimate)

Grading

You are expected to discuss your ideas clearly presented in written words or drawings. Grading is done partly on the quality of ideas (75%) and the presentation of design (25%)
