  1. You shall be meeting your instructor one on one with your preliminary version of your architects presentation. Read the part Phase 2: Building Research and Project Presentation (10%) from your course booklet.  Schedule your appointment with your instructor on whatsapp within this given period. +91 96110 96108. (2 marks) 
  2. You are to develop your three abstract concepts and develop three sentences around the abstract concepts of your building. Fill this form with your three abstract sentences. (6 marks)

Autocad 3D objective type

Before you attend your first partial test, you are to take this online test. At the end of the test you will send me your test results of your first attempt.

This test is a mock test of the part A of the first partial exam.

Autocad 3D Practicals

You will be given the plan elevation and section of a model and will be expected to model it accurately.

Part 3: 5 MArks

REVIT 3D practicals

You will be given sample drawings (plan, elevation and a section) of a small building. You are expected to model it including

  1. Datum elements (grids and levels)
  2. Floors and Roofs
  3. Walls
  4. Curtain Walls
  5. Doors and Windows

Phase 1: Architect Presentations (10%)

At the beginning of the semester, you will be assigned an Project and the project’s Architect. You are to take your time to research as much as you can about the architect of your project and present your research to the class in a 5 minutepresentation. Your aim is to make the presentation fun, informational and very enriching.

The main question you are to convey to the audience is

Your personal opinion of the architect or the work. What appeals to you?

Suggested here are details that you can include you in the development of your presentation.

  • The architects early career, mid and late career.
  • The development of design ideas and philosophies.
  • The socio cultural, economic and political forces that the architect responded to through his/her career.
  • Contemporary or previous architects who influenced the architect.
  • Lesser known fun facts and quirks of the architect. Failures and successes.
  • The architectural and non architectural projects, books written, academic work and non academic work.
  • The personal life of the architect, quotations, voice and or video clippings of the architect.

Homework / Classwork

You are expected to create the following drawings, (on your custom titleblock) in your revit file.

  1. Front Page – Includes an image, Project Area Schedule, Schedule of list of drawings
  2. Site Plan – 1: 500
  3. Floor plan – 1: 100 with grid dimension
  4. Four Elevations – 1: 100
  5. Two Sections – 1: 100 with approriate cut material patterns
  6. Three Rendered / Shademode /  Hidden line views
  7. One 3d Section

All drawings are to be placed on sheets with proper sheet naming and numbering.

The drawings are to be printed as a pdf file and uploaded on Dropbox.

This Assignment amounts to 5 marks of your final grade. Each sheet / drawing missing will lead to a 0.5 mark penalty.

  1. Custom Table. (4 marks)
    • All leg dimensions should be changeable
    • Legs are square cross section
    • table top dimensions can be changed . Length, breadth, thickness
    • table height can be changed
    • the table top should be offset from the legs in plan and the offset dimensions should be constant to 100mm
    • the table shall be placed with its centre planes left right and top down.
